Kittanning, Pa – ERG Partners was pleased to participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony held this week to celebrate the expansion of client D&I Silica, LLC’s (D&I) Kittanning Transload Terminal in Western Pennsylvania.
Initially opened in 2009, the Kittanning Terminal was in critical need of site improvements including track rehabilitation and new materials handling equipment. D&I was awarded funding through the Pennsylvania Rail Freight Assistance Program (RFAP). This funding, coupled with D&I direct investment, resulted in significant operational and capacity improvements.
“While investment in projects like railroad expansion and transloading sites makes sense from a business perspective, events like ribbon cutting ceremonies create a unique hands-on learning opportunity,” said ERG Partner COO Tracy Wingenroth. “These events often bring together industry leaders and state and local officials, allowing for an even greater understanding of how a project works, and how it benefits the community.”
